Blockages

Blocked drains & toilets

Sinks, toilets, showers and waste runs cleared and flowing again — then tested properly before we leave, so you're not ringing us again next week.

Typically £90 – £180

Clearing it

Most domestic blockages are within a couple of metres of the fitting and come out mechanically. We clear it, then run it hard for long enough to be sure it's actually gone rather than just moved along the pipe.

Then finding out why

A drain that blocks repeatedly isn't really a blockage problem. It's usually a fall that's wrong, a joint that's stepped, or a section that's collapsed. Clearing it again every six months is money down the same drain, so we'll tell you what we think is causing it.

Waste re-siting

Where the answer is that the waste run needs redoing, we do that too — correct falls, proper joints, access where you'll need it later. There are photos of waste work on our work page.

Worth knowing

We don't do high-pressure jetting or CCTV drain surveys. For a collapsed main sewer or anything past your boundary that's a drainage specialist's job, and we'll say so rather than take your money for the wrong service.

Common questions

My toilet is blocked right now. Can you come out today?
Ring us and we'll tell you straight away what we can do. Normal hours are 7am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and you're welcome to call outside that — out-of-hours carries a £65 call-out on top.
Should I try drain unblocker first?
On a slow sink, it sometimes works. On a fully blocked toilet it generally doesn't, and you end up with a pan full of caustic liquid that someone has to work in. If it's completely stopped, leave it and ring us.
It keeps blocking in the same place. Why?
Because there's something wrong with the pipe, not with what you're putting down it. Wrong fall, a stepped joint, or a partial collapse. Clearing it treats the symptom — we'd rather find the cause and give you the option of fixing it once.
Do you do drain jetting or camera surveys?
No, neither. If that's what your problem needs we'll tell you and you'll want a drainage specialist. We're not going to pretend otherwise to win the job.
